But The Star was given exclusive access to bring you this taste of the action - with 36-year-old Woods up against the younger but smaller Kosovo Kid, Elvir Muriqi, 29.

There was no love lost between the two fighters after Woods, who said it would be a war, delivered his other promise of a Valentine's Day masssacre.

He came out all guns blazing to convincingly win the fight on points over 12 rounds.

At times he came close to ending it early, with Muriqi knocked back on the ropes and battered.

The strong Kosovar-Albanian, who fights out of the Bronx, hit back and on rare occasions looked threatening in this hugely entertaining brawl at the splendid Hotel de France, in Jersey.

But Woods proved too strong for him and gradually wore down Muriqi.

He got the unanimous decision of all three judges, winning 117-101, 119-109 and 117-111.

Next for Woods could be a title shot this year against current champ Chad Dawson - or possibly a rematch against Antonio Tarver.
